During the application process, the customer will be required to demonstrate that he/she has at least two years of commercial driving experience. The customer may demonstrate that by providing:
• An out-of-state commercial driver’s license, indicating that it was issued at least two years prior to the transfer request date
• A copy of a driving record from a previous state(s) of licensure, indicating that the customer has the minimum requirement of two years of experience from the date of issuance of the commercial driver’s license
• Verification of employment on company letterhead, which must contain dates of employment and class of vehicle operated
Additionally, the customer must be able to read, write, and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, to make entries on reports and records, and to meet the general driver requirements per 49 CFR 391.11.
