Testing Requirements and Information

When a customer applies for a new Class D/M license, he/she must meet various testing requirements.

If a customer already has a Class D license and is adding Class M driving privileges, he/she must either take the Massachusetts Rider Education Program or take a Class M road test.

If a customer already has a Class M license and is adding Class D driving privileges, he/she must take the Class D road test.

If a customer does not have an existing license, he/she must take the Class D road test and must also either take the Massachusetts Rider Education Program or take a Class M road test.
