Non-Driving Related Reasons for Suspension or Revocation

The Registrar is required by law to suspend or revoke a permit/license or right to operate for some reasons unrelated to the customer's motor vehicle record. For example, the Registrar is required to initiate the suspension process whenever she receives official notification that a customer:

1.  Has failed to comply with a child support enforcement order

2.  Has an outstanding arrest or default warrant

3.  Has failed to register as a sex offender

4.  Has been convicted of a drug offense

5.  Has failed to pay Massachusetts income tax

6.  Has made a bad payment to the Registry of Motor Vehicles
