Class D Permit Limitations

Once the customer has his/her Class D permit, he/she is allowed to legally drive with the following limitations:

1.  He/she must be accompanied by a licensed operator who occupies the passenger seat next to him/her, is at least twenty one years of age, holds a valid driver’s license from Massachusetts or another state, and has at least one year of driving experience.

2.  If the customer is under 18, he/she may not operate a motor vehicle between the hours of 12:00am (midnight) to 5:00am unless he/she is accompanied by a parent or guardian who is a validly licensed operator with one year of driving experience.
